Flash - The Superhero
If the different types of available memory were comic book characters, you might say that flash is the superhero. Why? It`s fast. It can withstand extreme conditions. It can hold an enourmous amount of information despite its miniature size, and, it works with a whole range of different applications.
Fast, small, portable storage
Flash memory is an increasingly popular way to quickly transfer large amounts of data between different applications.
Flash is what is called “solid state” memory, meaning that there are no moving parts and it retains information even when the power is turned off. You can easily slide a flash memory unit in and out of different computers. In fact, it`s more like a floppy disk than RAM. To sum it up, flash cards are noiseless, considerably lighter, consumes less power, and much more rugged than a normal rotating disk drive.
So what can I use a USB flash device for?
You can use it just like a “superhero” disk which fits on your key ring—just plug it in one computer, copy any type of files and then plug it into another. There isn`t even a need to load any drivers—it`s instant plug and play with blistering data transfer speeds.
So put a little “super-power” into your computer. See the BabyUSB FAQ for more information
